Toronto made several moves during the NHL off-season in hopes of the team breaking their long slump of missing the playoffs. For the first month of the season it looked as if the team made the changes necessary to make their goal, but injuries and some mediocre play has the Maple Leafs looking to make some deals after the winter trade freeze is over.
The latest trade rumor from Bleacher Report has Toronto making a move for the high scoring youngster Bobby Ryan of the Anaheim Ducks. Ryan is just 24 years of age and has already scored over 30 goals three times in his career. Making such a bold move won't come cheap and the potential deal would send the Ducks three players and a first round draft choice.
Toronto is eighth in the Eastern Conference and making a deal for the second half of the NHL season could make the team a lock for the post-season. Anaheim is struggling and could look to rebuild and using Ryan would bring the biggest amount of talent for the team to do just that.
