What will Kate Middleton, a.k.a. the Duchess of Cambridge, give to Queen Elizabeth for Christmas? Gifts are exchanged among members of the royal family on Christmas Eve, so Kate had best get ready. She has just a few days left to shop.
According to a report from People.com, the notion of spending Christmas for the first time with in-laws is stressful enough. When the in-laws are Prince Charles and Camilla, and the grandmother-in-law is the Queen, that sort of adds insult to injury. Clearly these people have everything. So what does one buy?
Believe it or not, many of the gifts exchanged between the royal family members are humorous ones. They run the gamut from whimsical to actual joke gifts. This actually goes along with the Queen's belief in frugality—noting that as royals, there really isn't anything they need.
Of course, humorous must run hand and hand with tasteful when one is giving gifts to the Queen. A whoopie cushionor plastic piece of fake barf is definitely not the kind of gift Kate Middleton should be presenting Queen Elizabeth—or anyone else in the royal family, for that matter. So even though the gift will be light-hearted, Kate still must consider all options carefully before selecting that one perfect gift.
Hopefully Prince William will give his wife some helpful hints on what is and isn't appropriate for the family Christmas Eve gift exchange. And maybe even Camilla will come to her rescue. She has actually reached out to Kate a number of times in a mother-in-law way and has been very kind and helpful toward the Duchess of Cambridge.
What do you suppose Kate Middleton will wind up buying for Queen Elizabeth? Is there any way you'dwant to be walking in Kate's shoes on Christmas Eve?
