Kendall Jenner Refuses Opulent Bahamas Sweet 16 Planned by Kris (Video)

On Kendall Jenner's Sweet 16 special that aired last night on the E! network, the teenage reality starlet demonstrated that any hope for the Kardashian clan is centralized in the two youngest members of the family, Kendall and Kylie. Why? Kendall demonstrated that at a young age she has the gumption to stand up to her domineering and money-grubbing mother Kris when it comes to what is important to her.

When Kris Jenner, matriarch of the Kardashian/Jenner family, set out to plan a Sweet 16 birthday for Kendall, she completely ignored what the teen wanted and attempted to arrange a lavish getaway to the Bahamas that at least one family member, sister Kourtney Kardashian, wouldn't be able to attend. Kendall Jenner stood up to Kris and told her, "You're trying to make this bigger and bigger and it's embarrassing me" according to the Daily Mail.

Apparently, Kendall didn't want to travel down the opulent public spectacle road Kim Kardashian chose for her multi-millionaire wedding and crash and burn marriage. Instead, she opted for a conservative (by uber wealthy standards) party in L.A. with a memo to guests to donate toys to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles instead of wrapping up gifts for her. She did keep the event public in her very own TV special. That being said, at least in 72 days, Kendall will still be 16!
