Greetings, Gather writers. It's Thursday, and that means it's time to submit your work to the Thursday Writing Essential.
Was 2011 a good writing year for you? Did you meet or exceed any of your goals? What do you have for new writing goals for 2012?

The most important thing for a writer to do is to simply write every day. Whether that writing is for a publication, your own personal journal or simply an exercise in your craft, writing keeps the writer fluent. It's akin to a weight lifter lifting those weights. Every. Single. Day.
For today's theme, submit something that you feel shows your writing success for 2011. It needn't be something that was published or a piece that received accolades in a writing competition. It need only signify success to you in some personal way.
Be sure to submit your piece to the Gather Writing Essential, and to use Thursday Writing Essential in your tags.
I look forward to reading your submissions!

My writing goal for 2011 was to complete my manuscript, and Editing of my second novel in the "Mike Walsh Detective Novels" series. "THE JOCKEY'S JUSTICE" is based on an actual murder case I worked as Chief Investigator for a prominent Miami Law firm.
I am pleased to say I am neqar the end, with only about 15,000 words left to have it ready for Upload to AMAZON KINDLE.
Hope each of you is well and preparing for a joyus Holiday season.
Best,
Michael Phelps
In addition to posting my weekly column, the only other thing I can think of is my continuation of the writing tutorials. Maybe the biggest thing I did this year was to (finally) post an index to all of my tutorials. (Yes, that was a shameless plug for my work.)
I think I'll follow that theme and use your prompt to put up my next request for what writers want to see in upcoming tutorials.
