China's first air craft carrier has it's first sea trials.
When the fall of the soviet Union, left it's shell in the Urkraine, the Urkraine was happy to sell the shell, without motors and just barely a shell in 1998.
It seems that the "refit" took longer than the communist government thought, and this shake down cruise is without aircraft, so they can fix whatever comes up wrong.
They think the formal launching, of this aricraft carrier will happen next fall.
I can not find out when they plan on placing aircraft on the aircraft carrier, or go for their first sea cruise with planes.
I would plan on planes, wouldn't you??

It took this leap of purchasing this rusty shell to get the basic design right.
The Chinese government would buy some planes from the Soviet Union, and the "rights" to build thier own.
I wonder how long it will take them to figure out how to build a carrier plane?
