In the latest Salman Khan news, it appears the Bollywood star is being very choosy in terms of the roles he takes. Recent reports indicate he turned down an Ashutosh Gowariker movie he was offered by the director.
Salman Khan, who has been linked to Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif before, has also been part of a feud with Sharukh Khan. Is he also turning down movie roles from award-winning directors? The Times of India is reporting that Salman was approached by Ashutosh, who is behind successful films like Dabaang. Salman is quoted as saying, "I don't do good films. I do hit films. I work in films that make money, not the ones that get awards." Wow!
Salman also discussed his diva-like behavior with the director, adding, "I arrive in the afternoon and shoot at my own pace. You're used to working with other actors (read: Shah Rukh, Aamir) who reach the set on the dot at 9 am and work according to your pace." That sounds like it could be something many Hollywood actors say as well.
Meanwhile, Ashutosh Gowariker is denying that he ever approached Salman Khan with an offer to be in his movie, saying, "How I wish that were true. I'd love to do a film with him. No such luck."
So is Salman or Ashutosh lying here? Quite possibly it's someone feeding lies about the whole story, because Salman Khan seems to be involved in feuds right now. To think an actor wouldn't want to add an award-winning film or two to his resume is rather absurd, but then again adding more money to one's bank account may be the bigger goal of many actors!
