Saturday Writing Essential: "A Man"

Len’s Challenge: Write something (prose or poetry; fiction, nonfiction, or essay) that tells me what you think makes a man. I’m really looking for fun here, but you can be silly or serious, as you desire.

There is an urgent ache

left in the places where

you so gently stirred my senses

with the touch of your fingertip

grazing my skin and caressing

the very life line of my palm

A man leaves in his wake

the gentle mark of his love

And I, with eyes wide open

know the very soul of this man

I love this poem. The picture of Nat King Cole brought back so many memories. At one point I had all of his poems memorized.
