KINDLE app is free and WILL also work on your PC

 

 

 

 

 

 

The KINDLE app is free and WILL also work on your PC.

I don't own a Kindle reader, but I now have this APP on my computer.

I now can read some of free books downloadable from the internet.

 

My only worry is how to get less glare on my screen for better reading.

Fascinating. A Kindle app that reads Kindle books on the PC. I might actually try this. I think I will read about it, first - if people like it.

I was aware of the app but didn't know it is free and have not downloaded it. Still deciding whether or not to buy a Kindle. Thanks for posting this including the links.

Hi John. If you go to her link I believe you'll find apps for all sorts of things - ipods, blackberry, etc.

Anita, I have a Kindle, but I thank you for sharing this information. So many people don't know about it or that it's free. EBooks are becoming a big item. Amazon has piles of free books, many of which are classics and many are new books. I was broke and came upon Brian Rathbone's free book Call of the Herald and it was wonderful. Even wrote a review.

I hope you get great response from this post.
One problem with the Kindle application is that it's restricted to a small number of ebook formats. My favorite ebook application is Calibre, which can read almost every ebook format except the copy protected ones. It can also convert from and to almost every format. It's free and open source.

My favorite source for free ebooks is Project Gutenberg, which has thousands of public domain titles including every literary classic you can think of as well as books you never knew existed. Munsey's is another great source. It specializes in pulp fiction of all sorts as well as adventure stories from the 19th century.

Free apps and books are great, I just got a new pad/tablet thingie so I'll be looking for all sorts of apps.
