On tonight's thrilling season finale of the USA Network espionage drama Covert Affairs, a vacation to Stockholm turns dangerous not just for rookie CIA operative Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) but for her sister Danielle (Anne Dudek) as well.
Danielle accompanies Annie to Stockholm after she finds out that her husband cheated on her. Shortly after they arrive in Stockholm Danielle meets up with an old
friend named Magnus, with whom she has been corresponding via e-mail for six months.
Annie gets a phone call from Auggie (Christopher Gorham) and he asks her to meet with a contact and pick up an envelope. Annie's contact mistakes Danielle for Annie during a party and he is killed.
After the mission fails Annie and Danielle have to find a way to get out of Stockholm safely. They use Magnus's boat but not before the man who killed Annie's contact tracks them to Magnus's cottage and tries to kill Danielle. Annie shoots the man before he can shoot her sister.
This is the first time viewers have ever seen Annie shoot a gun in a real-life situation. She is understandably freaked out because she killed a man. But luckily she has Auggie to talk to about it.
After they return from Stockholm Danielle asks Annie to move back in. Of course Annie says yes.
Much to the fans' delight Annie must also admit her feelings for Auggie. But she doesn't have the greatest timing since Auggie is still hung up on Parker (Devin Kelley), and he is going to Africa to confront her. Auggie also gives Annie his 1967 blue Corvette before he leaves. They hold hands but fans will have to wait until next season to see if their relationship grows deeper.
Auggie doesn't tell Annie that he went to the doctor to find out if he could get experimental treatments for his blindness. But he probably would've if the doctor had told him the treatments could restore his sight.
Meanwhile Jai (Sendhil Ramamurthy) takes a standard polygraph test and fails it. He implicates Arthur (Peter Gallagher) in yet another failed past operation called Lynx. Jai reveals that his father Henry was the security leak. Henry is taken into custody.
Jai tells Arthur that he failed the lie detector test on purpose. Jai gets shadier and shadier with every episode. He also argues with Auggie in the elevator.
Arthur tells Joan (Kari Machett) about Lynx, and the fact that he was in contact with his ex-wife Gina (Rena Sofer) about it. Joan is surprisingly forgiving and she seems to trust Arthur, even though he's not very trustworthy.
This episode of Covert Affairs was exciting and left fans wanting more. Unfortunately new episodes won't be back on USA Network until next summer.
This episode of Covert Affairs also featured new music by Florence + the Machine. The new single "Shake It Out" from the latest album Ceremonials played as Annie drove off in Auggie's Corvette.
