My World Today - From My Front Porch

It is cold, windy, and snowing outside.  I live in the valley and can see three layers of elevation from my front porch.  It is really interesting all year long.  The higher elevation gets snow earlier and heavier, then the next level will soon follow.  The last level which is the valley itself is last. 

 I know it is hard to believe and even harder to explain so I have photos of the weather today. 

 

All photos are taken by me from my front yard today.

 

This is a zoom of the top of the mountain.

 

This is the second level of elevation.  You can clearly see the difference in snow on the trees.

 

You can see the tree in front that is in my yard.  So there you have all three elevation levels.

 

The highest and middle and lowest elevations are clear in this photo.  It looks almost like a shadow that separates the levels.

 

 

This is a zoom of the highest elevation and again, you can see the tree in the yard and the difference in the snow level.

 

I live in a beautiful area of God's country.  I am blessed to see all the beauty that he has so freely given me, right from my front window.  What is your world like today?

That's really cool how you can see three different weather patterns from your porch. My aunt's house is the same way(although she's on the top of a mountain ridge near the shenandoah mountains.

Our farm is on top of the hill as well. It is amazing to see the levels of elevations. It is a real eye opener to see the differences in the weather.

I love to look at the snow and the beauty it adds to the ground as well as the way it freezes the ground to kill the bugs but I am hating the cold and bad roads more each year.

It's cool here right now. However, I anticipate that the freakishly warm Florida temps will be back soon...

I don't like the bad roads, but I love winter. I want to work things out so my guy and I don't have to brave the worst of the winter roads on a routine basis. Living in the city is definitely one solution...

What a beautiful view. What a difference in the temperatures and the amount of snow.

We go up to 55 degrees today, a bit on the chilly side for us in the south.

Three levels, three worlds. Neat! I'm on Washington Island for the rest of the week. It was clear this noon but cloudy now so my telescope will remain in the truck for tonight. Perhaps tomorrow; there is little artificial light up here in the winter so on a clear night, star gazing in ominous!

It is not frost, it is snow. Some of the vehicles had a couple inches on them this morning.

Connie, I enjoyed looking at your Pictures very Much! You sure do have a Beautiful Scenery.
There was at least 3 inches of Snow on the ground this Morning, but a lot of it has melted, the Sun was Shinning so Bright Today!

The sun was shining and we had a minute of flurries at 915am. That was all we got! It was cold yesterday because of the wind but the sun was nice and warm so the temperature was almost 40.

Unless those were miniature trees, it must have taken a couple hundred cans of spray-on snow to cover all them. After all, snow doesn't really exist -- does it?
