When most people think of Twilight, they automatically think of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, or Taylor Lautner. But Seventeen's December/January double issue put the spotlight on Nikki Reed.
Nikki Reed plays Rosalie Hale in the Twilight films, and her character's largest part in the films to date is definitely in Breaking Dawn Part 1. But there's a lot that people don't know about her. She told Seventeen's Lori Berger about her chaotic childhood, her fashion design aspirations, and her relationship with American Idol's Paul McDonald. And of course, Nikki talked about all the behind-the-scenes drama on the Twilight film sets.
It was Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke who gave Reed her first starring role in the movie Thirteen, which was based on Reed's own personal journals.
When Reed talked about the experience, she said in the article, "I got typecast as a party girl when Thirteen first came out... The funny thing was, I was a virgin, I didn't do drugs, and I barely drank."
But Nikki Reed is all grown up now, and starring in the Twilight films has changed her life. Everyone wants to know about the drama off-cam with the cast, and according to Reed, there was plenty of it.
Seventeen's article says, "In the beginning, it was all innocent and fun, and we were like one big happy family... And then success comes along and changes the dynamic. We're not all best friends, and we're not all going to hang out together when the final movie is done."
With the end of Twilight, Nikki Reed is now free to pursue other interests like fashion design and writing her first novel. It seems that right now she's most interested in her relationship with her husband, Paul McDonald.
But Nikki Reed's interview isn't the only exciting thing about this issue of the magazine. It also contains a holiday gift-buying guide and style tips about how to
look your best at all those holiday parties. The double issue is available now.
