Victoria's Secret supermodel Miranda Kerr admits that she considered herself not as beautiful as other high-profile models. Is she kidding? Kerr is the most recognizable face for Victoria's Secret! Don't you think?
Kerr recalled the first time she walked into a Victoria's Secret store. She mentioned that she was 16 years old and a foreign exchange student from Virginia. She was absolutely flabbergasted at the lingerie store. She is so funny and real!
Kerr stated, "I was like, 'Wow! This is like a wonderland. We don't have anything like that in Australia.'" Several years later, Miranda Kerr was shocked to discover that she was given a Victoria's Secret contract as the first Australian model for the lingerie company.
Kerr recalled, "I was like, 'Why would they want me? I mean, look at her. She's incredible.' And then I met Heidi and Gisele and I was like, 'What am I doing here?'" Isn't she adorable? Kerr is so humble and precious. She doesn't even recognize her rare beauty.
Now the Victoria's Secret supermodel wears the most expensive bra in the world, the $2.5 million "Fantasy Treasure Bra." Wow!
Miranda Kerr explained that she doesn't see herself any different from any other models. Kerr said, "I always see myself as, like, equal to everyone. I can't feel bad about being who I am, just like the girl next to me can't feel bad about being who she is. A rose can never be a sunflower, and a sunflower can never be a rose."
Her metaphor of a woman being like a flower is quite simple and elegant. Kerr has such class and dignity. She is truly a role model for women of all shapes and sizes. But will women with a poor body image embrace Kerr's flower metaphor for themselves?
Miranda Kerr also said, "All flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that's like women too. I want to encourage women to embrace their own uniqueness."
What do you think of Kerr's flower metaphor? Do you agree?
