Yes I survive Black Friday by staying home. I have never experienced Black Friday shopping. And why would I want to when I have yummy leftovers waiting for me. Our Thanksgiving was nice. Hubby invited a co-worker and it was just the 5 of us. The girls and I went shopping Wednesday to pick up the bulk of Thanksgiving dinner - potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, poultry seasonings, sparkling juice.
Wednesday night hubby had to go pick up the cream of mushroom soup, french fried onions and pie. But he decided to wait till Thursday morning. Instead he and I walked over to the Cowgirls Saloon and listened to the live band. Then Thursday morning hubby goes out and I get a phone call, They don't have any cream of mushroom soup. He wanted to know what to substitute. Upon arriving home, he had a can of cream of mushroom. The store had empty shelves in the soup aisle, but apparently my hubby found a can in the front of the store at a display.
Thanksgiving dinner was a go with Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and cranberry sauce. Dessert - my hubby picked up a strawberry/rhubarb pie. Not exactly a fall pie, but he knows I don't eat pumpkin. Speaking of pumpkin, I'll share my daughter's take on dad's pumpkin soup later.
Mamazina's blog theme for November - Survival. I'm sure everyone is familar with my post.
