people here where I live are camped out in tents in front of Best Buy. I don't plan on going shopping on black friday. my daughter was invited to go by my niece but she didn't want to go.

I've never been shopping on Black Friday..I don't enjoy the pushing and shoving anytime of the year,,Christmas is bad enough and I'm doing very little of that too.

Betty, I have been out on Black Friday( we use to just say the day after Thanksgiving) and seldom found any real buys. It was more a time of being with my daughters. Now with my kids and grandkids grown, I slip something green in an envelope and give to them. Now hassle shopping.

It's 1:30 am on the East Coast and my wife and daughter are out. For them I think it is more about the fun and the time together than about the shopping. Regardless, I am going to sleep.

I read your title and immediately finished the thought with "is to stay home". Then I read your first sentence. How funny is that? When money was so tight in the years when my children were young, I made many of the gifts. The toys and games are priced so outrageously that shopping for them just brings heartbreak. My grownup children still have some of the things I made them at Christmas. I had many "late" nights staying up working on the gifts and don't regret a single minute spent on them.

Went and stood in line one time to get a couple tv's, when they opened the doors a bunch of people tried cut in the lines and get in ahead of everyone else. security stopped them made the wait outside till everyone else was in.

I had a family memeber make money to save money,,, he waited in line for them $200 at best buy and sold them for over $450 each,, that a $1000 profit to me I see,,

Many, many years ago I stopped going to the Black Friday and any of the midnight special sales. I've been either shopping earlier in the year or on the internet.
