Last week, Mariah Yeater and her legal team dropped the paternity lawsuit against Justin Bieber. It came as a shock to almost no one since Yeater's credibility had been questioned over the weeks after announcing that Bieber was her baby's daddy.
Despite the lawsuit being dropped, Bieber wanted to clear his name completely and put an end to all of the crazy rumors. So he did something very mature and took the DNA test anyway! He provided the DNA sample on Friday. About decided to take the test, Bieber said:
Just because she [made those accusations], we don't want it to seem like it's ok for everyone to just say, like, 'I had Justin's baby or having his baby.
On Sunday, he performed at the 2011 AMA awards and was seen with his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, throughout the night. Overall, Bieber seemed to be in a good mood while enjoying the show and put on an awesome performance that got the crowd into the Holiday spirit. He also helped to close the show by dancing crazy on stage with LMFAO.
It seems that Bieber made a good decision on taking the paternity test. By doing so, he is showing the world that, although he might be young, he isn't going to let people take advantage of him. While other celebrities in the same position may have simply paid a settlement to make the story disappear, Bieber took the high road and faced the rumors head on.
