Nicki Minaj bowed to Taylor Swift as she took the stage to accept her second 2011 American Music Awards win. The Super Bass singer opened the awards show, and then she won the AMA for Rap/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year (she could barely walk in her heels).
Winning the Rap/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year at the 2011 AMAs was great for Nicki Minaj and women rappers everywhere since she was the only female nominated in the category. She beat out all the men.
However, winning the Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year for Pink Friday actually brought the singer to tears. Not only that, but Taylor Swift presented the rapper her second AMA of the evening, and Nicki Minaj actually bowed to Swift most likely saying that Taylor Swift is an even bigger star than she is. Of course, there's no denying that the rapper is having the year of her life so far. At least for her second time on stage, Minaj had changed her shoes, so she could make it on stage.
What an excellent year at the AMAs for female rappers.
