Greetings, Gather writers. It's Thursday, and that means it's time to submit your writing to the Thursday Writing Essential.
How do you decorate for the holidays? Do you go all out--spending a day or two doing nothing but decorating? Do you put a few things out at a time--making it a gradual process over a period of several days?
In our home we try to have the Christmas lights and garland strung before Thanksgiving. That way after Thanksgiving is over we simply flip the switch and the outside of our home is decorated for Christmas. The inside is a bit slower process and varies from year to year. When the children were small we decorated more. Now that there are grandchildren I find we're ramping up the decorations a bit.
Do you like traditional decorations--your grandmother's ornaments or your great-uncle's menorah? Or do you prefer more contemporary decor?
Share with us what your holiday decorating style is--whether you're a bona fide Martha Stewart or a downright Scrooge. Be sure to post your submission to the Gather Writing Essential, and use Thursday Writing Essential in your tags.
I hope to be inspired by your ideas!
