‘Boardwalk Empire’ Recap Season 2 ‘Two Boats...

As this episode of Boardwalk Empire opens, Nucky seems to be having flashbacks of his childhood as he is being examined by the doctor. He gives the doctor a tongue lashing for not telling him about the Commodore's stroke. Doc invokes doctor/patient confidentiality but Nucky counters with the fact that he pulled strings for the doctor to get medicinal alcohol, he then wraps up Nucky's hand where he was shot and leaves to look at Margaret's daughter in the other room.

Jimmy is on the phone with Al Capone giving him grief because Nucky was not killed by his man.

Nelson brings in a live-in housekeeper to take care of baby Abigail, as Lucy is nowhere to be found. She agrees to his terms and he leaves to go to work.

The Attorney General and her associate are visiting Nucky and discussing the charges against him. They know who shot him and asked several questions that Nucky was aware that they already knew.

Jimmy is visited by Manny, the butcher at the Commodore's house. He gave Jimmy $5,000 for an alcohol shipment that he has not received. He comments on the gorgeous home, which Jimmy tells him that it is his father's home, not his.

Angela is on the beach with her son when a pretty woman near her is nearly arrested for being indecent because her skirt is not long enough. Angela pays the $10 fine and they strike up a friendship. The woman is a novelist who used the name of a character in her book and not her real name. When she comes home, Jimmy finds her sitting in their yard. She asks him questions about his clandestine activities and he admits some of the things to her.

Nucky goes to the funeral parlor to see his father. Eli shows up and they talk about their childhood. Nucky tells Eli to take responsibility for his actions and he leaves. Nucky then goes up to his father and breaks down and cries, even though he was a heartless and cruel man.

Nucky goes to see the Commodore, Leander Whitlock, Jimmy and Gillian. He tells them that he is in love and after a brush with death he intends to clear his legal troubles and be with the woman he loves and her children. He tells them that he is stepping down from his position as Treasurer of Atlantic City and they can have the town back and appoint anyone they choose to replace him. At Babbette's they announce that former Ward Boss Neary is now the new treasurer and without announcement, Jimmy is now in charge of the Boardwalk Empire...or is he?

Nucky knows that Owen Sleator is still in cahoots with Sinn-Fein and wants both he and Owen to go to Belfast together to meet with them because he has a proposal for them.
