I think the intent of the quote is that situations involved in the unlearned lessons of history tend to keep coming up until people learn the lessons and find a way to preclude the issues from coming up again.

I agree, that is what I thought it meant.

I think history is repeating itself now with overzealous governments. Our government is inching away more and more control of our lives, just like Nazi Germany, Communist Russia, etc.

I agree with this as well. I also see Sodom and Gomorra being forced down all our throats and especially on the most vulnerable..OUR BABIES..

I used that term in my writing because my parents got me when my bio parents who were related to them didn't take care of me and when I got my son I got him from my bio sister who didn't take care of him therefore history repeated itself, and I got him under the same circumstances that my siblings were taken away from my bio parents, my reasons for being taken away were a bit different then theirs.

I think the main point is that no matter how well the plans are laid, sin brings it down.

I don't understand why. I think of the people that are OK with the governments join together; the united Nations for instance. We are the only country that hasn't signed up to have our children put under the law of the UN. They've been listening for years to the liars, those that care not for their own people, those that do surgery on all the girls to remove their sexual pleasure, those that use our money that we keep sending them for their own pleasure rather than feeding the hungry, And their response is "Sure. go ahead and sign our kids up with them." This happening at a time when all Americans know more about how things work then any other generation. God said "Thinking themselves wise they become fools." Because they did not have the love of truth in them so He did not reveal Himself to them. If they only knew He was real. But they don't want Him to be so they've decided not to believe.
I do think that plays itself out over and over : (

Glome, you are so right, yet we keep falling for these pretenders instead of taking the blinders off of our eyes and seeing the harm they are doing to us. I say forget about the democracts and the republicans, pick a new way to go, think for yourself for a change, look into another way of life.
We keep doing the same thing over and over and are never happy with the outcome, it's time to do something different!

Generational sins repeat themselves. I had to do a family geneological timeline in my family and I can see it clearly.........as for what you said that is true, things do not repeat themselves exactly. I think sin just comes in a different manner.

As others have said, history does tend to repeat itself, just not as an identical copy.
