Many real-world relationships cannot thrive thanks to everyday trials and tribulations, so it was no surprise for many when it was revealed that Amanda Knox and her Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, broke up amidst their murder charges. Long distance relationships are hard enough, but imagine how difficult it would be if both parties were behind bars and among the most hated people in Italy. Definitely difficult. And it was within their trials that their love fell to pieces, according to Amanda Knox's ex-boyfriend.
Sollecito revealed - in his first interview since being released from prison - that it was 'cruel injustice' that caused their relationship to end. They were a relatively new couple, and during a pivotal point in their relationship when their love should have been blossoming, it was stepped on by the Italian courts. Both spent the last few years behind bars fighting for their innocence, and with that taking up all of their time and energy there was no fighting chance for their love. When your life is on the line and you are fighting injustice, things fall by the wayside. Perhaps it is something a marriage or long-term relationship could withstand, but not one that is barely beginning to grow.
As for Amanda Knox, she has not done any interviews. Both her and Sollecito have been flying under the radar since their release; though he did say that Knox invited him to visit her in Seattle, but he says that won't be happening anytime soon. Could it be because it is rumored that she is already seeing someone else?
