As a civilization, how will we know we are beginning to succeed? when the Department of Defense (Offense) becomes the Department of Peace (Non-violence).
The waste of nature, of good faith, on the armament of war is a measure of failure — failure of good will to win out against the waste of human/natural capital. When humankind, as A People, determines the greater need for peace than for the “Armageddon†of waste, then the reversing of cultural violence might begin the end of self-wasting.
The will for peace has first to exist in personal hearts and minds before it can find expression in public heart and will. Peaceful behavior originates in a peaceful mind, which means to say, as a culture, personal and social, we first must cultivate the wisdom and will for peace in our own lives before we can own cultural harmony, peace and wisdom. It’s never too early to start working toward global civility; it starts with the education of heart and the common pursuit of common wellbeing — which calls for adult will, adult education, to form communities and cultures of adult consciousness, adult faith.
An ADULT FAITH STUDY manual can be found which means not replace but to challenge your personal faith to the higher excellence of pursuing “peace in commonâ€. Light ever renews life if we challenge ourselves to renew the light of personal consciousness/conscience. To do less is to fail personally and culturally.

General William Tecumseh Sherman once said, "War is hell". I think he was very right. It is a mystery, then, to me that war is so popular. Maybe, it is because the price of peace is your life. You have to be willing to die, rather than kill. And that, I think, takes some very serious discipline (disciple).
