The Justin Bieber baby drama is about to get uglier if the Los Angeles Police Department gets involved. Cmdr Andrew Smith said even though no report was filed by Mariah Yeater, 20, over the alleged 2010 sexual encounter she had with the 17-year-old pop star, authorities may decide to investigate the whole thing.
The Associated Press reports that "anyone who has unlawful sex with a minor and not more than three years older is guilty of a misdemeanor."
If Mariah Yeater is convicted, she could face a one-year jail sentence.
Mariah Yeater looks bad in the public eye no matter what the outcome is. If Justin Bieber were to be the 3-month-old baby's father, Yeater would have committed statutory rape. Even if it's discovered he's not the father, she will be ridiculed for instigating a terrible scandal against one of the biggest musicians of today. Fans of Justin Bieber don't take negative publicity of him well and tend to retaliate. Yeater has already received a lot of death threats and been taking a beating on Twitter. This scandal isn't likely to go away anytime soon for Justin.
