Lady Gaga turned into a mermaid, yet another incarnation of this ever-evolving performance artist. But this sea creature has landed a big fish: The cover of the world's largest magazine.
That magazine, according to an admiring source, is called Visionaire 61: Larger Than Life and is a whopping seven feet tall.
What a perfect place for the larger than life Lady Gaga to show up. And while wearing a mermaid costume dripping in black, the corresponding caption reads, "There is no oil too thick as to destroy the imagination."
Lady Gaga was said to be chosen as this particular magazine's cover girl because "no contemporary figure symbolizes Larger Than Life" than this always intriguing talent. The photograph, by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, appears on the front cover, while another of this team's images of Gaga appears on the back cover.
Although one edition of this magazine is the above mentioned giant-sized, another is a little easier to handle, at least as far as the format which sits at about three feet by four feet. Only 2,500 numbered copies are available and are priced at a whopping $375.
Over the top? Lady Gaga would probably approve.
And she would probably approve even more of the bigger edition, which is becoming scarce since there are only 250 of these. Measuring nearly five feet by seven feet and costing $1,500, this version of Visionaire 61 is going for a Guinness world record.
And so, as Lady Gaga is a mermaid on the cover of the world's largest magazine, will you indulge in a copy or simply admire the publication (and its subject) from afar? Either way, this superstar depicted in this effort on the front would approve. Big time.
