"She knew it was wrong before they were even married," a "Kardashian insider" (aka Kris Jenner) tells Us. "They were not seeing eye to eye and it felt wrong."
However, People also has a cover story about how Kim knew the marriage was a bad idea -- its headline is "Mistake or Fake?" and you know it's bad when People is calling someone out on their famewhore shenanigans -- and its source gives a slightly different timeline, saying "she knew she had made the wrong decision" a month after the wedding.
Us pretty much echoes what Kim Kardashian said in the "statement" on her blog Tuesday -- that there were a lot of expectations riding on her wedding and "she felt like she couldn't turn back. She got in over her head. She made a big mistake and she knows it," a second source says.
At least she's owning up to the fact that it was a mistake to get married, although you know she wouldn't be doing that if there weren't so much backlash. But you also know this is total spin, after all their other excuses fell flat. If she really had cold feet -- and according to Us, "she was calling friends, telling them she didn't want to" go through with the wedding -- why wasn't that on her reality show? That would have made great TV, and she still would have landed loads of magazine covers, only with "Kim leaves Kris at the altar!" headlines and stories about how she knew marrying him was wrong. That's still a famewhore move, but she would have gotten a bit more sympathy, instead of the media and fan firestorm that's happening now.
But this could also be part of Kris Jenner's master famewhore publicity plan: She didn't rule out the possibility that Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries could reconcile on a Today Show appearance this morning.
What do you think? Did Kim Kardashian really almost call off her wedding? Is she just trying to save face now that she's facing a public backlash? And can you believe she spent so much money on a wedding that what so tacky and over-the-top (clip below ... and actually, yes, you can totally believe that!)? Sound off in the comments!
