Have you ever been to the website www.uncommongoods.com? I really like this site. Several years ago I gave my brother-in-law a gift certificate from here and he purchased a set of coasters that were old records recycled into coasters. I got a catalogue from them the other day and was looking at it thinking how cool it would be if I had a lot of money to spend here. You certainly won't find things made in China.
They sell necklaces made from the nose print of one's dog. They send you a kit, you follow the instructions for getting the nose print, and then the artist mails you back a necklace with the custom nose print on one side, and the name of your dog on the other. That's pretty expensive, and there are some expensive things on here. But a lot of things are lower priced.
I know there are a lot of nature lovers out there. They sell felt bird houses that are natural and water resistant and hand felted by Fair Trade in Nepal. These bird houses are made of natural fibers and birds can come and take things off of them and use them to go build their own nests wherever in nature that happen to be nesting.
Also, there is this cute thing I'm thinking about getting my sister and BIL next year for their anniversary. It's a State of the Union Journal. The man fills out one journal, and the woman fills out the other journal, and they can compare answers. Some of the prompts are "Something I Don't Tell You Often Enough" and "Something I've Never Told You." There are silly prompts as well like "What are your visions of your inner rockstar?" Then the man and wife can switch and compare answers.
Anyway, I just like this site and wanted to share it. Do you guys have any websites that you like that you would recommend taking a look at?
Oh, one of my favorite things is a glass "bowl". But the glass bowl looks like a plastic baggie- like you'd pack a sanwich in. I know that sounds weird. But I just look at it and can't help but smile. It's a glass zipper bag. Who thinks of stuff like that?
