I hit the 600.00 mark!!!

I tried cashing out yesterday and it said I couldn't because I already made 600.00 on Gather this year!!! Wow, was I surprised, I never expected to make that much here.

Thanks so much  to everyone who's viewed and replied to my content!

Now I have to fill out a W-9 form and send it to gather before I can get paid again....has anyone filled out this form before? It looks confusing to me, But I haven't had to fill out any tax forms in a few years.

Wow! That is awesome. I have not had to fill it out for Gather before, but I had to fill it out for a couple of other sites I am on. It's fairly straightforward.

Does that mean you cannot make any more $$ on here until the new year? That would be sad.... I did not know there was a cut off.
My hubby says a w-9 is very easy to fill out.

You can make more than 600 in a year here, you just can't cash out until you send Gather has a copy of your W-9.

Did they at least electronically send you the W-9 and not make you wait for the snail mail?

They give you a link to the form, you can then print it out and send it in.

I knew you had to claim at 600 dollars but I didn't know Gather stopped you from cashing out at 600 bucks, very interesting. You will have a ton of points come January.

They are only stopped until I send them the W-9 form, then I'll be able to cash out again this year. :)

It's not really a limit, you just have to pay taxes after you make 600. in a year.

That's just amazing! Well, at least I'll never, ever have to worry about making that kind of money here.......LOL!!!!! I just got a "whopping" $10 in my Paypal account from Gather.....oh wow! The only place I've ever gotten a tax form from is from Hausernet.com, an online company I code mail for.......but in the 6 or 7 years I've worked for them, I've only gotten the form a couple of times.

The only reason I got that much is from posting my crochet patterns here, I have links to them on several crochet websites, without them I wouldn't be making much at all, lol!

Good for you!! I haven't cashed out at all yet.......LOL I don't post much, just mostly read other peoples things. Hope you don't have too much trouble with that form.........
I have made nothing yet this year.

So, what do you do to make so much on Gather now? I mean what are your tips and tricks for the ones of us that have been gone due to no internet so long and all the changes?


I remember having to fill one of those forms out when I first started Gather along time ago. I think it use to be a requirement. Than Gather decide to only make those who make it to $600 a year to fill one of those forms out.
