My week / Christmas shopping .....

It seems like I have been out every day this week, making the week go by pretty quick.

I have about half of my Christmas shopping done.  I have to get 2 more things for my son and about a half a dozen things for my daughter.  I know where to get the last things on my daughters Santa list.  I thought it was going to be a real chore trying to get something for them this year but luckily they have both given me plenty of idea's.  I try to have all my shopping done by the end of November.  I am sure I could save a bit of money if I waited to shop closer to Christmas but I don't care what I save the chance of maybe not getting something they want isn't worth it.

I have a budget each Christmas and for the most part I stick to it.  I leave things for myself and hubby to last.  I only have to get something for my Mom after that.  I buy for one other person and that is my sister in laws daughter.  But I usually get that at the last minute.  My best friend and I swap gifts for each of our two kids. That way our kids get what they want.

I have to start cleaning up the house so that in early December I can do my decorating.

Update on my Baking day.  I have 6 brownies left and 5 cookies.  Not bad they lasted longer then I thought, lol.

When do you start decorating for Christmas?  Have you started you Shopping yet?

Wow, have you EVER been busy! Generally, I Christmas shop the year around and have all my shopping done by now. However, with hubby's nightmarish "health scare" back in March, everything's completely turned upside down and changed. I have bought some handmade items for at least 3 gift baskets I'm making for the sweet gals who run our center and my friend who cleans there......for hubby, I've got an ABF store catalog in the mail.....will probably get him some "trucking" stuff from it, with ABF on them........don't know what else....the kid, I'll probably get the new "Captain America" DVD that's coming out but, also, don't know what else........have a few friends that I always give to as well.
Would you believe, I actually have some Christmas stuff out now, already?!!!!! Think I have all my Christmas cards but need to buy some wrapping paper and a bunch of cellophane for the baskets.....am coming right along!

Yeah Halloween isn't over and Christmas things are out. I think it gets earlier and earlier each year. Good luck with your shopping.

You are way ahead of me. I do have 4 gift cards put away and I got 4 more coming that I have earned. Most of my Gift giving is Baking, so I will start that a few days after Thanksgiving! I like to Decorate for Christmas, right after Thanksgiving also.

I have all the decorating done by my Birthday on the 21 of December, that includes any cleaning as well.

for me I have hard wood floors so that means sweeping, I hate sweeping. Seems like I got to do it every day.

She loves Supernatural, but won't watch VD. Well, I made her watch the first couple episodes of the first season, but she didn't even get to the awesome episodes. After all, it started off slow. Remember that darn crow?

Yeah I love decorating for Christmas as well. But not the cleaning part, lol.

Oh it is defiantly her loss for sure when it come to the Vampire Diaries. She must not like vampires.

Yeah the crow was cool but I guess it didn't work that and the fog. Have you read the new book?

No, I haven't. I need to start reading again.

I was watching the commentary on season 1's DVDs, and the creators were talking about how sad they thought the fog looked when they reflected back on the first couple of episodes.

I'm not done by a long shot, but I think I'll be fine this year, I socked away a Christmas account and I've got a few things stashed away and if I feel up to it, I'll do some baking, besides that I will give some photo gifts - like a calendar and maybe a mousepad that sort of thing.
I decorate the first week of December.

wow...awesome on the christmas shopping! I tried to do a little today since Old Navy was having a 40% off sale, but didn't see anything thrilling....I did save 1/2 my bill today though, unfortunately it wasn't for christmas....I guess I'll do that all online once the kids give me their lists

I am just doing gift cards this year since everyone in my family pretty much got the whole package. I'll be done Christmas shopping for them when all those lovely gift cards that I won will start arriving in my mail.

Nothing wrong with gift cards, hard to buy when most people/kids have what they want or you don't know what to get for them.
I don't start decorating for Christmas til after Thanksgiving. I hate mixing holidays. I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet.

I was like that till the kids gave me some ideas. I have a niece that I have to buy for and I don't have a clue that and a granddaughter that I send out a gift card too.

I was late starting this year but only by a few weeks. I kind of dreaded it but it hasn't been too bad. I hate that no one has layaways here. I usually do it just to have a place to hide it.

That's awesome! I've barely started this year-I'm so far behind. I have a ton of birthdays to buy for in October and now that they're all done I can start working on Christmas. I've started a list of what I'm going to buy, I just need to start getting out there and crossing things off the list. Hoping to still be 95% done by Thanksgiving so I can just pick up the last few things during Christmas sales.

You have been pretty busy. I have some of my shopping done. I will start decorating the first week in December. I used to put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving but not anymore.

We start decorating for Christmas right after Thanksgiving. I have been cashing in every thing i can to get Amazon GC. I have over $200 in Amazon credit, all from earings sites. Will make it much easier for shopping.
