It's been a long few weeks without new episodes of New Girl, but that changes when the show returns next week with the fourth episode of its first season, "Naked." What's coming up next for Jess and her roommates? Will the show be just as funny as before it went on break?
Season 1 episode 4 "Naked" sneak peeks
"Jess (Zooey Deschanel) laughs when she accidentally walks in on a naked Nick (Jake Johnson), sending his self-confidence to an all-time low—just after an attractive co-worker (guest star Lake Bell) agrees to go out on a date with him. Meanwhile, Winston (Lamorne Morris) becomes obsessed with learning pop-culture references online."
This sounds like it's going to be an episode filled with some awkward moments and laughs, and the sneak peeks reiterate that. The first clip (below) shows Jess joining the guys as they watch a scary movie. She says she doesn't like scary movies, but the guys do. She ends up joining them on the couch with her own commentary—including movie suggestions (Fame and An American Tail) and spoiling the movie since she saw it in theaters. The guys end up walking away.
The second sneak peek from the next New Girl episode (below) shows Jess presumably trying to make it up to Nick for walking in on him naked by setting herself up for the same thing in his room. However, while she's hanging out there in a towel, she hears that he's coming back with his co-worker (Bell) and tries to hide. While the two are busy getting naked themselves, Jess tries crawling towards the door without being seen, but since this is a comedy, of course that doesn't work. When she tries to make a run for the door after they see her, she bumps into a shelving unit and her towel falls. She turns around, naked, introduces herself, and welcomes Nick's date to their apartment.
The third clip (below) shows Jess telling Schmidt and Winston that she saw Nick naked (but of course she does this is her own way). When Nick's on his way out, she tries to talk to him about it awkwardly, and then tells him to have fun on his date.
It looks like New Girl is going to return for November sweeps with a funny episode, showing there is a reason it was picked up for a full season. It has been the perfect addition to the Tuesday night line-up, between Glee and Raising Hope, and as long as it continues to bring that quirky humor that the first three episodes did, it should continue to do well.
