Last night ABC debuted their newest drama - Once Upon a Time. It's set in modern day within a town called "Storybrook" Maine. The main character Emma gets a visit from her son she gave away (at birth) on her 28th birthday. Her son convinces her to take him back to Storybrook. On the way she notices the book he's been carrying, he tries to tell her fairy tales are real and she should know she's in one of them.
Turns out Emma is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, due to a curse she had to be sent away. That same curse has caused everyone in fairytale "land" to forget who they are and be stuck in time.
I must say it was pretty good - I wasn't sure if I'd like the whole pulling fairy tale into "real world". I also figured I wouldn't buy into adding more to the story, I rarely like "what happens after ever after" stories. However I was actually surprised at the caliber of thought that went into the story. It wasn't just day after they get married this is what happened. It was more during this time in the world this was happening. It also teased that we'll get to find out how Snow White and Prince Charming met.
I also give the acting a thumbs up.
Over all I can say that I will be tuning in next Sunday, it's an original non-reality show so it's worth a watch.
Did anyone else catch Once Upon A Time?
