First off, I want to thank everyone for all their well wishes. Knowing that we have friends that are pulling for Ed makes the recovery that much easier.
Well, Ed is home. He came home yesterday. (Saturday) That ties the record for his doctor's fastest discharge after knee replacement surgery. 2 days post-op. He had to be able to have a 90 degree range of motion (which he did), be able to get out of bed by himself (he was doing that one day post-op) and be able to walk 150 feet. (he walked 250 feet)
He is still having pain, but that is to be expected. The worst is when he is trying to get up off of our living room furniture. The chairs and sofa are lower than our bed and his office/computer chair. (can't keep him off the computer...LOL) It may take a little longer for him to get up, but he is managing.
I have to go to the pharmacy to pick up Arixta. Arixtra is a subcutaneous injection that goes in the abdomen. Ther drug helps to prevent platelets from sticking together, therefore preventing blood clots. The doctor figured since I am a nurse, I could give the injections at home. Gee...he has his own private duty nurse.
The Home Health Physical Therapist will be out to our home tomorrow. 3 times a week for 4 weeks.
I am amazed at how well he is doing. He will be running the 5K before you know it. (Yeah right! Like his cardiologist would approve of that.)
Thank you again for being there for us. It helps to know that others are thinking of us!!!

Glad he's doing well!
They are painful because they burn. I hated when they woke me up at 5 in the rehab to give me the shot... The stuck the night shift with it... but boy did I hate getting woken up. UGGGH.
It's good they are giving that to him though... but I remember the copay being expensive... they were not cheap.
It sounds like He is recovering nicely!
PLus, I would bet that your home cooking is much better tasting than the hospital gruel.
