Since I worked on Thursday, to the theater I went. This time, I steered away from big Broadway shows and went to an off-Broadway drama in a small theater. The theater complex used to be a movie multiplex – had been a discount theater then eventually became a place for 5 different plays to be produced.
The play takes place in one set, with no intermission. Freud and C.S. Lewis carry on a conversation about God, atheism, politics, end of life issues. The conversation takes place in Freud’s London study on the day when Britain declares war on Germany during WWII – Sept. 3, 1939. (So the radio is turned on and off to listen to various announcements – from the King and the Prime Minister.)
It was interesting… I am glad I went.
