As the 2012 summer Olympics in London approaches, David Beckham is eyeing the chance to bring home a gold medal for England. The 36-year-old midfielder, who plays in the United States for LA Galaxy, would love to win a gold medal for Britain, but he's not sure who he'll sign with next when his contract expires in November, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Beckham is getting offers from European clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, and Leicester City. The biggest rumor is he and Victoria Beckham are considering a move to France so he can sign with Paris Saint-Germain. It's only a rumor, but it's looking quite possible. He would hate to play against Manchester United, but is concerned that his physical abilities are no match for the British team. Being an older player, the fear of coming back big and potentially "failing" are in the back of his mind.
David Beckham says of being part of the 2012 Olympics:
I've made no secret of that. Even to be in the team would be incredible. To be part of that Olympic spirit and to be able to win gold for Britain would be the ultimate [goal] for me. The fact that we've got the Olympics in the east end of London where I grew up, the fact that I could be part of that and that I could be out there trying to win gold would mean a hell of a lot to me because I am very patriotic.
The LA Galaxy player admits he loves living in the U.S. and that his family may very well remain there. Who will he sign on next when November rolls around?
