My Children Growing up and Leaving does not bring me Sorrow instead it brings a Wealth of Blessings. It is the start of their bright futures and a promise of new beginnings. That brings More Life, More Hope, More Pride, More Joy and laughter. A promise of A New Life......

Your born into this world
New, unbroken, innocent
unaware of all that is around you
Focused only on what matters most
hunger, warmth , sleep
You begin to grow
And with growth a movement, smiles
Aware of color sight and sounds
Aware of touch, hot, cold and tickle
And what taste hmmm yummy
You begin to grow into a little you
A free spirit to roam wander
Free to question, asking why
You know what is yours and what you like
Your favorite word is mine, or no, or mommy
I see before me an independent you
No need for hugs and kisses
No need for Band-aids on boo boos
Smart and sassy or Tall and suave
Little bits of me I can see reflected in you
I am proud to have seen you grow up
I take credit for the good and even the bad in you
The grown-up you don’t need me as much, so I wait
You are distant and aloof and mischievous
Forgive me for trying to hold on to old memories
I know you are grown and with that comes independence
soon you will be free to make your own choices
Take the good with the bad and have no regrets
Live your life for you Sweetie, not for me
I will always be proud of you
because you are a part of me
A new life, goals unspoken
Ready to find your place in the world
A seed that's grown into a tree
Always be yourself always be free
