President Obama announced today via a letter to the Congress that he was ordering the deployment of 100 special operations troops to Uganda assist in the capture of Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) leader Joseph Kony. The LRA has been fighting in Central Africa for more than 20 years and attributed to atrocities such as rape and murder of women and children. The troops are not to join the fighting unless in self-defense according to the President Obama's letter sent today.
