Google has a cool doodle in honor of Art Clokey, creator of the famous clay animation green guy, Gumby, to commemorate his 90th birthday.
Complete with different colored clay balls which turn into all the familiar clay animation friends that made up the famous show when clicked on, this Google doodle is sure to bring a smile to any face.
Joe Clokey, son of Art Clokey, is pleased with the Google doodle and feels his father would be, as well:
Art's life and film career were ahead of their time. My dad would have been thrilled to be connected with Google in this way.
The doodle, created by animator Anthony Scott, is coinciding with a new website which contains all things Gumby. The site, GumbyWorld.com, includes film clips, pictures and biographical information about Clokey and was created by Clokey's son, Joe. Old and young fans of the great show will definitely want to check it out.
The Google doodle of Gumby is a wonderful way to remind the world how very talented Art Clokey was and how his creations will continue to live on forever.
