Prompt: Crate a response using the theme of “Introductions, Please!” Write poetry, prose, a memoir, nonfiction, or an essay.
....The first meeting had not gone quite as planned for our parents. Of course, we had been young, he ten years old, I had been 7, and we had been cranky from lack of sleep. He proceeded to steal my blond Barbie, had torn off her head, laughing the whole time. So, I took his G.I. Joe stuffing it in the dirt of his back yard.
....It went back and forth like that for years. A line had been drawn in the sand. We were quasi-enemies, never agreeing about much of anything. Our parents despaired of ever getting peace, we were neighbors, so we should have known better, according to them. But, neither of us wanted to back down, we were stubborn.
.....Things wouldn’t change, not for many more years to come.
*Author's Note: I made this up for the prompt. It's mainly a character study, an introduction to these two rivals, who grow up to not necessarily be more mature. But, they will find that even opposites have more in common than they believe.
