Recent reports indicate that the Halloween spending for this year may improve for many retailers over last year. A recent Chicago Tribune report notes that holiday spending for Halloween is expected to reach $6.86 billion this year. This will make for the highest spending in 10 yewars now. The average person will spend about $72 on costumes, decorations, cards and candy. Last year this number was just over $66 per person.
With these stats in mind, many local and online retailers know that despite the bad economy, Halloween is one holiday people won't worry about spending for. A local Bellevue, Washington thrift store CEO commented to the Tribune that "Halloween has grown tremendously in the past five years, so we have made it a bigger part of our selection."

This can only mean good things for online and retail outfits looking to make good money this upcoming holiday season.
