I have been doing my best to help those around me in the fight of our lives. Â What are we fighting for? Â The lives of the children in this country.
Some may not believe - That is ok. Â Eventually you will. Â Why? Â Because if a changes is not made, sooner or later you will be the person or know the person who is directly involved. When the truth does come out and it hasn't touched your life, you will Thank God that you remained unscathed.
I may sound like a raving lunatic, I'm not. Â I refuse to keep my head buried in the sand pretending that 'IT' doesn't exist. Â What is 'IT'?
About 40 years ago (give or take a few) word came out that Children were being severely abused by their parents. Â Beatings, molestation etc... Â The outcry to the Gov't was 'DO SOMETHING'. Â So they did. Â They allowed CPS (Child Protective Services) to become.
It started out as a good thing. Â CPS intervened in many situations quite possibly saving the lives of many children. Â Bringing abuse out into the open, making those abusers pay for their crimes against children. Â People began to feel safer for their friends, families etc.
During this time there were provisions put in place by the Federal Government. Â The provisions were to help pay for these children who were removed from their homes, being placed into safe havens throughout the State, with the possible eventuality of adoption. Â The monies for this came from Social Security - Title IV D Funding.
The amount varies State by State.  It starts at the basic level.  when a CPS case is opened (meaning when CPS comes to your door) They begin receiving Between $3,000 and $5,000 per child, per month that the case is held open.  If the child is removed from the home, then the case stays open so they continue to receive this money.  If the child is put up for adoption the State then receives a bonus from the Federal Government  Upwards of $85,000 per child.  The adoptive parents receive about $10,000 of this money in tax incentives.
For a few years now some of you may have noticed the economy is slipping. Â A lot of States are suffering, trying to keep their Gov't afloat. Â Some States have discovered a 'Cash Cow' right in their own backyards. Â YES, the children that live in their State.
How does one go about taking a child away from a loving family that has done no harm?  Well, that's fairly easy, since the DHS/CPS handbook gives a very broad description of harm.  "Any means of harm that comes to a child".
They have also included yet one more description. Â "Failure to Protect". Â For instance in one case here in Michigan a child was harmed by a neighbor, this was reported to the police. Â It was discovered that this 'neighbor' had harmed several other children in the area. Â This first child was removed from his Mother's care and she was charged with 'Failure to Protect'.
A man was charged with 'failure to protect' for riding his son on his bicycle.
We have grand parents being denied custody of their Grand children using the excuse that there was only 1 egg in the refrigerator (yet, the cupboards were full and so was the fridge)
I have written an article to HELP prepare in the eventuality of a visit from CPS.  Please give it a look see, take notice and take action BEFORE you need it. HERE is the link In it you will find several other horror stories of parents who have lost their children to CPS on trumped up charges.
If you think that it's just a problem in Michigan - It is not, it is a Nation wide issue. There is a Petition to make an amendment to the Constitution. Â Please read HERE and sign.
