Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman starred together on the hit TV series Cheers, and it looks like they're hoping for history to repeat itself. The two will join together in the cast of The Manzanis—Alley's upcoming sitcom pilot. Will they have a winner on their hands this time, too?
According to the Huffington Post, this is the first big thing Alley has done since Dancing With the Stars and Fat Actress, and the first recurring role Rhea Perlman has had on TV since 2001. The dynamics of this sitcom are a bit different, but it still sounds like there's plenty of humor in store.
In The Manzanis, Rhea Perlman plays the role of Kirstie Alley's mother-in-law. Their entire family is relocating to New Jersey. The relationship factor alone sounds like the kind that belly laughs are made of.
Kirstie Alley has lost a whopping 100 pounds since appearing as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars, and both looks and claims to feel like she has a new lease on life. It will be interesting to see if this new lease has carried over to her talent, lending itself to the success of her new sitcom pilot.
What do you think of Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman once again appearing in a sitcom together? Do you think the combination of these two actresses is a guarantee for success?
