In the upcoming season of Bones, Brennan will be giving birth to her and Booth's baby—eventually. It's not going to happen in the first six episodes that are airing beginning in November, but there are details about what will happen when she does go into labor.
The birth of Booth and Brennan's baby
TVGuide has revealed what fans should expect to see when Brennan does finally go into labor. Emily Deschanel has already had her baby, a son, but it will be quite some time before her on-screen pregnant character goes into labor and it's still not quite clear whether the Bones family will be welcoming another son or a girl this time. Stephen Nathan has said, "Brennan is going to be in prison when she goes into labor." They'll be there as part of a case for an episode airing in April—meaning it's part of the second half of the short, 13 episode season. Nathan went on to explain, "Booth and Brennan are investigating a prison escape when they get locked in." Perhaps having Brennan along for that part of the case wasn't such a good idea, since a prison is no place to give birth to a baby, but it does seem oddly appropriate for these two that it turns out to be time while they're working—which is how they met to begin with.
Still, it seems like the sort of situation that's not going to make Booth happy—there's no way he's going to want his baby born while they're locked in a prison—and it should be entertaining to see what happens when the time comes. How will Brennan deal with being in labor? As the newest promo has shown, Brennan can't help but give in to some of the parts of being pregnant, including hormones, so it'll be interesting to see what happens when it's time for her to give birth. Will they be able to get out of the prison in time, or will they have no choice but to deliver while locked in?
