First Lady Michelle Obama donned a baseball cap and sunglasses to go shopping incognito at Target. Meanwhile, her husband Barack Obama is beginning his 2012 campaign.
Amazingly, nobody at the Alexandria, Va. Target even recognized Michelle Obama except for the cashier who checked her out. What an amazing coup for the First Lady who will likely spend a lot of her upcoming months campaigning for her husband.
While the First Lady had a precious moment out of the spotlight at Target, Barack Obama hit 2012 swing states to promote his jobs plan along with making his first second term campaign speeches.
In Florida he told potential voters, "This is the worst financial crisis and recession that has existed in our lifetimes. Florida was hard-hit more than most when the housing bubble burst. The American Jobs Act puts construction workers back to work in Florida right now building schools, roads and ports."
If his plan is able to make inroads in those areas, he just may end up winning back over the voters of Florida in November 2012, but right now he has an uphill battle. The state is expected to be huge in the upcoming Presidential election.
Do you think that Michelle Obama could help in her husband's reelection campaign even at this early date? Perhaps right now, her going to Target and doing her part to stimulate the economy may be the best thing to do. All in all, the couple each had interesting days to talk about in their private rooms tonight.
