Ground
Sink or swim, win or lose; just stay on the ground.
Was that you, wasn't it me, falling to the ground?
Feelings come, feelings go, if you have the gumption.
Nothing lasts forever, keep yourself on the ground.
Rain soaked tree limbs, look almost like brown gravy.
Leaves though, haven't a goal, sit sadly on the ground.
.
Strands of gems, luminescent, encircling your waist.
Hearts beating, note by note, keep us on the ground.
Running with the wind in your hair, singing songs of life.
I'd sing songs of broken hearts, within their sad ground.
The forest is so dark tonight, please meet me by the water?
I'll lie by the tallest oak, to hold you tightly on the ground.
Life is real, life is good, hush, stay silent, don't make a sound.
I lied, lives are hard, not much is good, bury me in the ground.

Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future. --Robert H. Schuller
