Little Tikes toys have made headlines once again for creating unsafe toys. The current recall of tool sets including toy nails is an expansion of a 2009 recall. Didn't the toy manufacturer learn the first time around?

This phase of the recall includes 11 added models of toy tool sets that include oversized plastic nails, which could become a choking hazard for children. 1.7 million million Little Tikes toys are affected, according to an MSNBC report.
Dispose of Toy Nails
Parents and caretakers should take inventory of toy boxes immediately and dispose of the carrot-shaped toy. Little Tikes was made aware of the dangerous nature of the nails in 2009 when 1.6 million truck and tool set toys that included the nails were recalled. Why didn't the company recall all toy sets that included the plastic nails during the original recall in 2009?
The unsafe toys were sold new from 1990 to 2004. Used toys purchased from rummage sales, thrift stores and second-hand shops often get missed during recalls, causing the hazards to linger well into 2011.
