Sistahs - Welcome to Fall, 2011 - Shedding Light. Please forgive me for being so late. I wanted to start a few days ago but I could not get on my computer. I am hoping that this will post so am making it brief.
Sistah Sharon, one of my friends here in Franklin, La., sent me an email and I'd like to share it with you. It says so much:
Autumn is a symbol of death and rebirth. As soon as we release what needs to be released, rebirth is certain. We are making room for what truly resonates with our heart by letting go. Now is the time to thank whatever we have been holding on to for teaching us what we needed to learn and let Nature, God's Nature take it's course. Let go and Let God. Release what ever has come to the end of it's cycle, release whatever is not serving you at this moment. Allow it to fall away like the autumn leaves. Whatever is false and obsuring your life...allow it to simply... drift away. You are more than capable of creating this for your Self. Create a-new.
Peace be with you always,
Sharon
This is a new season so shed what you do not need and leave room for new things to come into your life. Sometimes we get so clogged and weighed down - there is no room for anything new.
I am a great believe in soaking away problems as you all know - so even if you always shower, try to soak once a week in epsom salts or apple cider vinegar and let negativity go down the drain (more on soaks later).
This season finds me down in bayouland. I hear that a cold front is right around the corner. To be honest, it is still summer here and I love it.
I was thinking about what kind of posts would be fun to write. The things about fall or autumn that came to me were the moon, fires and trees. I'd like to give the sistahs this season the option to write about any one of these subjects. You may write every day, once a week, or whenever you feel like it. It can be a poem, a story, a haiku. Title it Shedding Light - and then your title. You can post pictures to go along with your post.
I want to post this before I lose power altogether sistahs but hope that those of you who are chomping at the bit can at least get started. We'll go into breathing, stretching and eating a bit later. Also, walking - VERY IMPORTANT TO MOVE! Naturally, I want to hear about everyone's summer but you can tell me about it in a comment should you choose.
Thanks Sistahs and if you're new, please introduce yourself here and tell us a bit about yourself. Salud

Ah, letting go is hard to do. I mourned all the falling leaves the past two days of high winds and pounding rain at Olson Lake. I don't go outside in this kind of weather but I didn't work in the house or do anything that needed to be done. I studied the art and goddesses of pre Inca days and poured over the book "Inca Origins" and oh how happy that keeps me. I am working on not having anything or any state make me happy but just being happy over nothing so in a way I am letting go of the olden ways of mine.
@Mariana - Wow, big changes ... may you continue in the flow with ease - just like a dolphin riding the current. Being happy is an art, it's true. I know you are doing it. :)
thought you knew I lived in Santa Barbara, California for over 30 years...? more later - hugs - my reg email is Bayoutoes@aol.com
write me when you can...hugs Salud
I certainly wish to catch up for the fall and winter months and enjoy all the inspiration you dear ladies create.
Trees, fires and a silver moon, I can see that as a painting! Salud my dears!
It was very Autumn like today here in Northern California. Cool mornings and hot afternoons, breezy too. As it's Rosh Hashanah I think there must be a new moon. I'll have to check it out. Some of the trees are losing their leaves and as far as I know there are no major fires in this part of the world. That's good news.
I'm singing the Fall songs with the children in the five schools where I do music with the little ones. One of them is called "October Rocktober" and the words say that with "My Favorite Time of Year." As for me... every season has a plus but I like it best from equinox to equinox when the days are longer and the nights are shorter. It's all about LIGHT!
