Written for Tracy's prompt:

You are in a room with Kay M. and Tracy Fabre. You are bitter because of months and months of evil Shortie prompts. You lock them in and force them to write a 100,000 word story together. What is it about? Possible words: ecru, peas, 81, toast, koala.

 

"Well, Tracy, we've done it," I said, bursting with pride. "Our story is exactly 100,000 words long and it is the most twisted, demented and romantic story about Koalas ever written, if I do say so myself."

But Tracy was paying no attention. She was still typing. I peeked over her shoulder and felt a stab of pity for the GS members when I saw that she had typed this:

Revised Genre Shorties Prompt

Read Kay and I's 100,000 word story, Pass the Koala and Peas, Please, then write a 100 word review which includes the words: mud flaps, tartar sauce and hemorrhoid's.

After having read this most intriguing novel, 'Valley of the Eucalyptus', and having followed the decadent and convoluted plot concerning a promiscuous coterie of koalas, their hemorrhoids, and the wombats who love them, I am left wanting for nothing... other than some fish and chips with tartar sauce... and mud flaps (though i really don't know what they are.)

Oh great! Now Tracy is revising the Genre Shorties Prompts?! 100 word reviews?! With prompt words?! Just what need as I read “Pass the Koala and Peas, Please”! What twisted, demented person would eat koala with peas anyway? Peas just don’t go with anything! And how do you cook koala? In the oven or on the grill? Uh oh, what is that rumbling and grumbling in my belly. It must be the 100,000-word story. Or was it the tartar sauce? Either way I’ve got to run! I feel the hemorrhoids and it’s a darn good thing I’ve got mud flaps!

My mother had a great recipe for "pork chops and peas." I'll ask her if she knows about the koala variation.
