I thought I’d share a little about something new on the market. My friend Mark, recently quit smoking after being a smoker of over 13 years. He has tried literally every type of nicotine replacement therapy as well as other methods like hypnotherapy, laser acupuncture etc… Nothing worked. He’s been desperate to quit smoking for years now, and he was just about out of options.
Then about four months ago, he encountered e-cigarettes. These are basically NRT’s but they’re a lot more effective than the conventional sort. According to statistics, about 90% of smokers who try electronic cigarettes manage to kick the habit. I thought that this was quite astounding.
Mark ordered some e-cigs online to start off with as he didn’t know whether or not they would be effective in helping him quit tobacco smoking. I think the kit costed him about $49 for a basic kit, which includes the nicotine juice as well as the vaporizer devices (there were a couple of them).
He basically found them on an e-cigarette review site, and chose to go with the V2 e-cigarette brand (click here to view). He told me that they were really nice as they came with different flavors to choose from. The part he’s the most happy about is the fact that these e-cigarettes are saving him a lot more money. Analogue cigarettes these days simply cost too much, at $15 per pack.
Now I’ve been a smoker myself for some time, and I’m on the verge of trying these electric devices out myself, but I think I’ll wait a little - I still love smoking tobacco so I’m not quite ready to give up on the good old cigarette just yet.
Having said that, I’ve seen some major health improvements in Mark. He’s now a lot more energetic as his lung capacity has slowly returned to normal, and he no longer stinks!
Normal cigarettes contain a ton of different toxic chemicals while these electronic cigarettes are claimed to be safer to one’s health - that is yet to be proven however. It seems like the FDA are looking to legalize and regulate these products, since at the moment they are neither legal nor illegal.
