Authorities investigating the Robyn Gardner case in Aruba have decided to re-enact the final moments before she disappeared using actors. Gardner, 35, disappeared in Aruba on August 2nd after traveling there with Gary Giordano, 50, currently the only suspect in the case. Giordano is being held until August 31st after losing his appeal to be released from custody. Gary Giordano claims that after their early dinner at Rum Reef Bar & Grill, they went snorkeling at the beach nearby and she was overtaken by the water, though this account has been disputed by an eyewitness. Witnesses at the restaurant also have expressed suspicion over Gary Giordano's version of events, due to the fact that Robyn Gardner was dressed up and wearing makeup, and didn't look as if she were prepared to go snorkeling after dinner.
Investigators have expressed suspicion toward Giordano, who recently hired high-profile attorney Jose Baez (the lead defense attorney for Casey Anthony), due to Giordano's "eerie calm" in the moments immediately following Robyn Gardner's disappearance, when he claims he returned to the restaurant to seek help, as well as the fact that it seemed he wanted to appear on every surveillance camera possible to make sure he had an alibi. Witnesses also noticed a cut on Gary Giordano's throat, possibly an indicator of a struggle. The level of suspicion against Giordano is massive at this point, and his foolish decision to hire Baez as an attorney is not likely to help him.
