Dinner "Time" With The President

Obama is reaching into his successful campaign bag of tricks to raise $$ for his 2012 re-election campaign. Prior to the 2008 election, I received emails with the invitation to dine with the President, kinda like a sweepstakes deal where you donate $5, and you'd be entered for a for a chance to win. Well, apparently it worked out quite well, because the President is again offering a chance to win his presence along with dinner for a $5 donation (at least, the price didn't go up!). So, it appears that Obama is reaching out to the same people that got him elected, "the little people," (myself included), except I'm not sure he's acted in their best interests since he's been in office~future polls will dictate that answer. This is the 1st email I received, and it was already followed up by a 2nd email two days later. I have no doubt, they'll be many more...

Mari --

Supporters like you are the reason I'm here, and the values we share have always made our organization more than just a political campaign.

So whenever I can, I want to take the opportunity to meet you. Last month, that meant I got to talk to folks in Iowa about small-business opportunities, and sit down with a group of volunteers from around the country who helped build this campaign in their communities this summer.

Today, I want to ask if you'll join me and three other supporters for a meal and conversation sometime soon.


If this sounds a bit familiar to you, it's because we've done this before. In fact, my hope is that I'll be able to keep doing these dinners throughout the campaign.

They're a chance for me to talk one on one with people like you who are taking ownership of this campaign and connect with the work going on every day in neighborhoods across the country.

These dinners also set our campaign apart. No matter what our opponents do over the next 14 months, dinners like these are how we will continue to put people at the heart of this campaign -- and prove that we don't need checks from Washington lobbyists or special-interest PAC money to win an election. We can do it person to person, in our neighborhoods and backyards, and over the dinner table.

That's why I'm asking for your donation today. I hope you'll take a minute to help build this campaign. When you do, you'll have a chance to join me for dinner:

Alot of the shine has come off the president's persona, but compared to the teapublicans, he is still the better choice (holding my nose).

If he paid me enough I would have dinner with him as long as they didn't serve string beans. I certainly would not pay him.

Cool. I am not happy with what he didn't get done BUT I think he is an honorable person, very smart and still believe in him. He has a lot of people against him and that is why he hasn't been able to succeed in as many things as he promised.

I hope I get one of these emails. I would love to give $5 and meet him. I would go and meet him and talk to him. That would be amazing.

That makes me feel soooo much better. But, will five bucks cover the dinner cost? Also, can you imitate Obama so I won't feel left out? Oh - I forgot - the five bucks go into a hat and I may not chosen.

Didn't say I was buyin'... you can "brown bag it" if you want, just be sure to bring the five bucks.
Oh, and I'll even do some imitations, no problemo.

If it makes it to YouTube and goes viral I'll refund the fiver... maybe. 15 minutes of fame ya' know, might be worth it.

I think this is going to work. Obama is the only candidate that the Democrats have to offer and the Republicant's are HORRID!
