A 'normal' September morning

Weather-wise.  Here in Virginia, the last few years have entailed Indian summers.  It was strange, but leading into October it was warm enough for shorts or capris on quite a few days.  It wasn't until around Thanksgiving the weather cooled down to fall temperatures and by that time it was nearly winter.  I love it because I love warm weather and can't tolerate cold very well.  Waking up this morning I was freezing and had to force myself out into the nippy air.  I checked our temperature gauge and its 68 in the apartment.  BRRRR.

 

I'm sitting here now in two layers of clothes and a jacket.  I work later this morning and look forward to the 75 degree temperatures (still cold, but better!)  College wise, I only have 3 shorts papers to write and I'm done for the week.  I'm heading back home since I'm off until Sunday night and I have another bridal shower (3rd in 3 weeks!) and to help out my mom.  She had a treatment scheduled Thursday, but the doctor postponed it until Monday.

 

Not too much today going on except work, getting together with my maternal grandmother and odds and ends.  My Granny came up yesterday for a visit and we went shopping and had a nice lunch at my favorite greek resturant.  I also got some fall wear which came just in time :)  I'm off to work on/tackle my to-do list until work.  Hope everyone has a great one!

It is cold here today isn't it? I woke up freezing last night and put the warmer comforter on the bed this morning (thankfully it was still in the middle of the floor from moving/unpacking so it now has a home :) ). I've got a lot to do for both work and school both today and this weekend so I'm actually glad for the cooler weather-it'll keep me inside and working. Have a great weekend!

I've pulled out my heavy quilt. I woke up before 5, but refused to get out and face the cold. It'll make me run around the house doing stuff to keep warm during the day at least. Hope you tackle a lot this weekend and have a great one!

Sounds like a busy day - the indian summer weather would be very welcome here as well :-)) have a great weekend :-)) am catching up on gather emails and then out for a bike ride while its still dry out there :-))

This really made my day! (You're so funny... actually, I think its colder than that in Hawaii!)
I've never been to Virginia, but my daughter and her family live in Falls Church. Are you close to Falls Church? (Now I'll have to start worrying about them freezing!) :)

Haha, I'm glad it gave you a chuckle :) I get bad in the winter and bring a space heater to sit next to my desk. I love planning period, I sit in front of it and work. I'm not really close to Falls church, but I imagine their temps are the same (I have a friend just over the border in Maryland who said its pretty chilly there too)

I wish it was cold here. I'm kind of jealous lol. I can't wait till it gets under 80 degrees, but I know that it will be a while. At least I can start to tolerate the evenings a little better than even a few weeks ago. Today I have to get the car fixed then get some groceries. Not sure if I'm going to the gym or not later. Have a great day.

Do you want to trade? I'd love to live in an area with 80+ degree weather!! Good luck with car repairs. It took a month to get mine back after a bad radiator, broken belts and shock system.

It's 59 here right now and I have all the windows open. Sweatshirt weather is my favorite time. Going to finish cleaning out the garden later and maybe cleaning up some of the horse weeds along my fence line.

Aw geez, Gather "ate" my comment....arghhhhhhhh......this is a daily occurrence now, and it makes me mad! It got to 40 degrees last night and is cold this morning, plus rain......will be surprised if it hits 60 but I still prefer this to the outrageous heat!
Quiet day today...I'm staying home and decluttering more and working on my other rewards programs!

Yeah we didn't get to much of it after and then once I got back from getting mom's hair cut I stayed home. Plus by that time the kids were home from school.

It's been cooler lately here, but it's starting to warm back up. We've had frost the last few nights.

This is actually my favorite time of year, though. It's 67 degrees in my house, and 51 outside. I'll wear a hoodie when I go out later, but inside it's practically perfect with a long sleeve t.

It is only in the 60's here, but I'm freezing my buns off! Maybe it is time to upgrade to double layer clothing. And yes I will go up to triple the layer once winter hits. LOL

Oh me too! The schools are freezing during the winter months and I wear 3-4 layers and I'm still freezing to death! I sneak in a space heater even :/

I'm with May...60's and I'm freezing. It doesn't take much to make me cold. I'm thankful it's supposed to get back to high's in the 80's over the next few days.

Not much going on here, just sitting around watching movies. "Stepmom" and "Little Women" were both on. As soon as Stepmom is over, I'm going to Second Cup for a gigantic mocha latte.

You need to rent both movies....NOW! Little Women was released 3 times, once in the 30's, once in the 40's, and once in 1994. All of them were great! The one I saw was from 1994.
