Has anyone lese been watching the Great Food Truck Race on Food Network this year? It's a favorite of mine and unlike Next Food Network Star, the quality of this year's race was on par with that of last. Unlike last year, though, where I roooted for Grill 'Em All and the Nom Nom Truck for most of it, I haven't really had a clear favorite this year.
The truck I was slightly favoring had a team of three shrewd, business-savvy guys who seemed unflappable. Unfortunately, the most recent episode pushed them over the line and lost them a great deal of respect. Alas.
My current favorite is easy enough to pick-- out of the three remaining teams, I dislike two and can respect the other- Hodge Podge. The main chef almost always keeps up a chipper, can-do attitude, and so far has almoast always been able to put his money where his mouth is when he makes confident statements.
The other two teams, at least, have amusing qualities, even though I don't much care for either. One has a guy who looks like he is perpetually scowling, which I cannot help but find a little funny, especially when he otherwise seems really happy. I find his team to be a bit too stereotypical and a a touch obnoxious. (And I'm sorry, Boston, but that accent is starting to drive me nuts.) When the team isn't bickering amongst themselves, they're often bashing the other remaining team.
That team has a "front man" who I just find so irritating. At least one of his teammates makes up (almost) for it by nearly never speaking...
So, from here on out, it's the final three, and my vote is for the Hodge Podge truck.
Do you watch? Who are you rooting for?

I don't watch the show, but I do love food trucks. I may have to add this to the list of shows that I watch when Patrick's out of town. Hoarders is getting a bit repetitive. :)
This is a fun show :)
It does seem that gourmet or specialized food trucks have become a bigger thing, lately, though, which is neat!
